After starting his career in Melbourne working in law and investment banking, Karlu worked with cocoa and coffee farmers in Latin America building an agri-trade platform. Before returning to Melbourne, Karlu managed the e-Commerce business of a leading consumer goods company in Hong Kong and China, as well as the operations of a manuka honey portfolio company.
Karlu looks to bring his passion for working with farmers, healthy food and practical innovation to deliver the health benefits of BARLEYmax® to more consumers both locally and globally.

Alfred is a seasoned finance expert with a stellar track record in banking and finance. At ANZ Bank, he excelled in leadership roles, driving business performance and spearheading strategic initiatives. His expertise spans financial planning, analysis, accounting, tax compliance, and risk management.
As a CPA with an MBA, Alfred brings a deep well of knowledge and a genuine passion for financial success to The Healthy Grain.
Lauren is a seasoned marketing professional, who has worked with iconic brands across a wide range of industries including nutraceuticals, sports nutrition – and now, food! At The Healthy Grain, Lauren leverages her experience to shine a spotlight on the brilliant health benefits of BARLEYMAX®, with the objective of enhancing the health of people across the globe. As a part-time yoga teacher, Lauren is passionate about health and wellbeing – and loves that the mission of The Healthy Grain aligns so closely with her personal values.
A highly versatile marketer, Lauren’s expertise spans digital & social marketing, PR, strategic planning and event management. Lauren is proud to be part of the team that drives the domestic and international growth of The Healthy Grain and BARLEYMAX®, positioning both brands as a leaders in the health and wellness sector.
Sharon is a Registered Nutritionist (registered with the Nutrition Society of Australia), Food Scientist and Strategy Specialist. With a Bachelor of Applied Science in Food Science and Nutrition and a Graduate Certificate in Human Nutrition under her belt, Sharon is equipped with a robust academic background within the health and wellbeing sphere. She has also completed a Professional Certificate in Strategy Specialisation from Harvard University.
Sharon’s career, spanning over two decades, has seen her contribute significantly to various sectors of the food industry, including the dairy industry and esteemed companies like Simplot Australia, Byron Bay Tea Company, Living Pure – and now, The Healthy Grain.
Beyond her corporate endeavours, Sharon is committed to promoting health and well-being in the community. She conducts nutrition and wellness programs for schools and corporations, aiming to optimize the health of Australians across all demographics.
Paul has wide experience in the biomedical and food businesses having worked for pharmaceutical and biotech companies, and for CSIRO. He spent several years managing CSIRO’s technology commercialisation in Japan.
